Navigating Syria's Transitional Landscape

Webinar with TraCe Research Associate Regine Schwab on Syria's transitional moment

More than a decade into a devastating civil war, Syria stands at a pivotal juncture. After the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad, the interim government, led by Ahmad al-Sharaa and backed by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, initiated significant political changes. While over 125,000 refugees have returned to Syria facing dire conditions, the international community remains divided on the legitimacy of the new government and the appropriate response to the unfolding humanitarian situation.

This webinar by TraCe Research Associate Regine Schwab and Peter Seeberg (University of Southern Denmark) aims to examine Syria's current state of governance, the conditions and prospects for refugee return and the geopolitical and domestic factors shaping Syria's future. The event “Navigating Syria's Transitional Landscape: Governance, Refugee Return, and Geopolitical Dynamics” is part of the webinar series on Middle Eastern Policy and EU Relations by ECPR
