Stefka Schmid is a research associate at the Chair of Science and Technology for Peace and Security (PEASEC) and a PhD student in the Department of History and Social Sciences at TU Darmstadt. Her research focuses on the interface of humans and information technologies. As Associate Fellow in research area 1.2 New Forms of Political Violence and Technological Change, she investigates different technological innovation policies and the way in which they contribute to the production of ontological security. She is also interested in the extent to which technologically mediated practices can promote either violence or peace.
