I am interested in the intertwining of social movements, culture, and the political violence they cause, particularly in the case of street protests since 1968. My research focuses on protest culture in the (post-)Yugoslav cultural space, concentrating on media representation, elements of art and performance, and the gender dimension, which are often followed by specific forms of violence. The tendency for street protests to turn from peaceful to violent raises an important research question, which I attempt to answer in the context of culture.
