An End and a Beginning

Looking back at four years of research on transformations of political violence

The Graphic recording shows a lettering in the center of the picture that says “four years of research on political violence”. At the top of the lettering, there’s a visualization of the four TraCe Research Fields in form of a directional sign. Every field is structured in themes with small drawings and the research question addressed there. Below the lettering there’s a chronological structured map, that shows the TraCe events and conferences, as well as knowledge transfer facts and figures.

At the end of the first funding phase, the TraCe network gathered two weeks ago in Lollar for an internal retreat. The group celebrated and reflected on the past four years of TraCe.

The retreat was partly accompanied by visual communicator Christa Fajen, who translated TraCe and the topics discussed into a graphic recording. It summarizes the results and work put into the first four years of TraCe: From the work in research areas and their findings, to events and conferences, to the successes of knowledge transfer, it illustrates the diversity of TraCe and its dialogue-activities beyond the academic sphere.

Building on these insights and reflections, TraCe is entering the upcoming funding phase with a solid foundation and fresh momentum.
