How Does Violence Transform Territories? David Luquetta, director of the Instituto para la Paz y la Democracia at the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe, focuses on urban violence, territorial transformations of armed conflict, and emerging approaches to peacebuilding. We are pleased to welcome him as a TraCe Visiting Fellow from October to December 2026.
David examines the evolving relationships between state institutions, armed actors, illegal markets, local elites, and communities. He is particularly interested in ongoing peace processes and participatory methods of urban peacekeeping in the Colombian Caribbean. His work combines critical ethonography, territorial analysis, and applied research and is part of the TraCe Research Area Institutions.
