TraCe Team welcomes Visiting Fellow

Dr León Castellanos-Jankiewicz new Fellow with TraCe

Since August, Dr León Castellanos-Jankiewicz has been a Visiting Fellow at the Research Center "Transformations of Political Violence".

Dr Castellanos-Jankiewicz researches the human rights implications of irresponsible arms trade at the Asser Institute for International and European Law in The Hague and the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses in particular on access to legal remedies across European juris­dictions for victims of gun violence in third countries.

As a Visiting Fellow at TraCe, he will work in research area 2.3 on the containment of new violent actors and will investigate due diligence in the context of arms trafficking. Furthermore, together with Dr Raphaël Cahen and Dr Hendrik Simon, he is organizing the conference "The Monroe Doctrine: History, Interpretations, Legacy", which will take place in Frankfurt in early December on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine.

Dr Castellanos-Jankiewicz will stay at Justus Liebig University Giessen.
