From June 14-16, 2023, the Open Section Meeting of the DVPW Section on International Relations took place at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen. The event offered numerous scholars from the field of international relations the opportunity to exchange views on current research and developments in panels, workshops, and discussion groups. Scholars from the regional research center not only contributed to the diversity of the discussion as participants in the conference. TraCe was also represented with its own panel at the section meeting, thus underlining the relevance of the transformation of political violence.
Prof. Dr Felix Anderl chaired the TraCe Panel "The Concept of Violence" with Dr Regine Schwab and Lina Schneider presenting their research on June 14. While Regine Schwab spoke about "The transformation of war and the targeting of civilian infrastructure", Lina Schneider focused in her contribution on structural (post-)colonial violence in international institutions.
In addition to the TraCe panel, other TraCe scholars also participated in the exchange. For example, Dr Jonas J. Driedger participated in the Roundtable of the Journal of International Relations (zib) on June 14. Moderated by Thomas Sommerer and Andrea Liese, he discussed the topic "The Ukraine War and the (German) IB" with other scholars. In addition, Prof. Dr Hanna Pfeifer, Prof. Dr Lisbeth Zimmermann, Prof. Dr Nicole Deitelhoff and Dr Hendrik Simon presented their work in various panels.
