Climate Change and the Future of Peace and Security

Second session of the TraCe Lecture Series Part 2 with Nina von Uexkull from Kon­stanz University

The second presen­tation of the TraCe Lecture Series “Trans­formations of Political Vio­lence: New Perspec­tives” Part 2 will be held by Nina von Uex­kull from the University of Kon­stanz. The lec­ture is a colla­boration with the Compara­tive Politics Speaker Series. 

Nina von Uex­kull is Professor of Inter­national Politics at the Uni­versity of Konstanz and also an ad­junct professor at the Depart­ment of Peace and Con­flict Research, Upp­sala University. Her main re­search areas are the im­pacts of climate change and cli­mate change policies on armed con­flict and human se­curity. She current­ly leads a VR-funded research pro­ject on climate change miti­gation and protest and was awar­ded the 2022 Oscar Prize by Uppsala Uni­versity.

The lec­ture series “Trans­formations of Political Vio­lence: New Perspectives” show­cases new approaches to the changing forms, insti­tutions, and inter­pretations of political vio­lence as they are studied within TraCe. It brings to­gether perspec­tives from history, sociology, po­litical sciences, and cul­tural studies with ac­tivist voices.

The presen­tation takes place at Cam­pus Westend and will be held in Eng­lish.
